We are excited to announce our lead cast for the first ever UK Tour of Million Dollar Quartet. Following a Tony Award-winning Broadway run and success in the West End in 2011, the rock ‘n’ roll extravaganza is making its way to a city near you.
Jason Donovan will play legendary record producer Sam Phillips, the man who made music history by bringing 4 phenomenal recording stars together. Jason’s musical theatre accolades include The Rocky Horror Show, Sweeney Todd and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Jason is also famous for his role as Scott in hit Australian soap Opera Neighbours as well as having a successful pop career selling millions of albums and hitting the number 1 spot around the world. He currently presents a weekly Sunday radio show on Heart FM.
The quartet will be played by Martin Kaye (Jerry Lee Lewis), Robbie Durham (Johnny Cash), Ross William Wild (Elvis Presley) and Matt Wycliffe (Carl Perkins).
Martin Kaye will play the legendary Jerry Lee Lewis, having played the role on the first North American tour of Million Dollar Quartet as well as the Las Vegas Production of the show at the Harrah’s. Martin received the Best Actor award from Vegas Seven Magazine.
Robbie Durham will take on the role of Johnny Cash. His credits include 1st cover Tony In Billy Elliot (Victoria Palace); Hoods (Arts Theatre); Sunny Afternoon (Harold Pinter Theatre); Dreamboats and Petticoats (West End & UK tour); Kiss Me, Kate (Upstairs at the Gatehouse); The Confession Room (Landor Theatre); Olivier Awards 2011 (Drury Lane Theatre); Cinderella (Pavilion Theatre Rhyl); Broadway to West End (Drury Lane Theatre).
Elvis Presley, the King of Rock, will be played by Ross William Wild. Stage credits include Norman in Dreamboats and Miniskirts (UK Tour), Michael in The Witches of Eastwick (The Watermill Theatre), Jason in the European Premiere of BARE (Union Theatre and Greenwich Theatre in London) and Kenickie in Grease (National tour).
The fourth member of the quartet, Carl Perkins, will be played by Matt Wycliffe whose credits include Outspan Foster in The Commitments (Palace Theatre) Bob Guadio in Jersey Boys (Prince Edward Theatre, WhatsOnStage Award nomination), Buddy in The Buddy Holly Story (Duchess Theatre).
Katie Ray also joins the cast as Dyanne, with credits including Beauty in Beauty and the Beast (Central Theatre Chatham), Wendy in Peter Pan (Grand Canal Theatre, Dublin and Mayflower Theatre, Southampton), Truly Scrumptious in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (UK Tour), Liesl in The Sound of Music (Royal Palladium).
